Our Story | Meet Mary Margaret

For A Collected Home With A Personal Touch

Bonjour! I’m Mary Margaret, the artist and curator behind Maison Marie-Margaux.

I’ve always been drawn to the pieces that make a home feel personal: beautiful old porcelain, a little chinoiserie, a touch of gilding, and vintage treasures with stories to tell. I love the way traditional pieces can feel fresh again when mixed with color, personality, and a sense of whimsy.

Maison Marie-Margaux brings together two of my favorite things: creating original hand-painted decorative oyster plates and thoughtfully collecting antique and vintage finds. Every hand-painted design is made with an eye for detail, while each vintage piece is chosen for its charm, craftsmanship, or the unmistakable character that only time can give.

The Art of the Oyster Plate

My signature decorative oyster plates are painted by hand, one piece at a time. Inspired by classic interiors, coastal color, antique patterns, and the pleasure of collecting, they are designed to be displayed on a wall, styled on a shelf, or given as a meaningful gift.

I also welcome custom commissions, whether you have a favorite color palette, a room to complement, or a special occasion in mind. Each commission begins with a conversation so we can make something distinctly yours.

Please note: Maison Marie-Margaux hand-painted oyster plates are intended for decorative use only and are not food-safe.

Vintage Treasures, Thoughtfully Found

The vintage side of Maison Marie-Margaux is rooted in my love of timeless, collected interiors, from blue-and-white porcelain and charming Staffordshire figures to Florentine details and well-loved tableware. I believe a room is most beautiful when it reflects the people who live there, with a mix of old, new, and unexpected treasures.

Thank you for being here and for supporting a small, artist-led business. I hope you find something that makes you smile and feels right at home.
