Vintage Staffordshire-Style Porcelain Cottage Pastille Burner with Applied Flowers

Charming Staffordshire-style porcelain cottage pastille burner / decorative cottage house with a soft pink roof, hand-painted floral details, gold trim, applied flowers, raised greenery, and pierced windows.

Pieces like this were inspired by the 19th-century English Staffordshire cottage wares that were popular in Victorian parlors. Original pastille burners were used with scented pastilles, allowing fragrance to drift through the open windows and doorway. Today, they are collected as decorative mantel pieces and look especially lovely styled with Staffordshire dogs, transferware, antique books, small florals, and English country decor.
